Raise your hand if you’ve ever dealt with this.

“I have NOTHING to wear!” I too have said this phrase one too many times. HOW-EV-ER, I understand or at least my logic has been pieced together as to WHY I say this or maybe why others say it too.

I have nothing to wear” while looking at a closet full of clothes is the equivalent of saying “I’m bored of my clothes.”

Our typical clothes = Routine. The usual. Boring. Nothing new.

This is when we aren’t using our creative energy to make our wardrobe pop, to make those “to-die-for” outfits because nothing new hasn’t been added lately.

Typically a solution can be to just go and buy some new wardrobe pieces, correct? Yes, and no. Buying can still hurt people on budgets and make our wallets cry if we end up spending a BIT too much thanks to that half off sale we passed by.

Try these:

  • Keep some go-to outfits handy and ready in your closet
  • Try to mix up new things– try that daring colour combination
  • Wear something old in a totally new way
  • Perhaps borrow an accessory or article of clothing from mom/dad/bro/sis/whoever and rock it
  • IF shopping, try THRIFTING or shopping at an OUTLET or WAREHOUSE (saves a TON of money + no guilt)

How do YOU deal with this?

I love how simple and quick it can be to make one outfit work for several situations with super small tweaks! Sorry I couldn’t take better photos and degraded myself to cheesy bathroom photos! I always feel in a better mood when my hair is straightened. I was out with my volunteer team to meet our Korean delegation students, so I wore shorts, but I had to quickly run home and switch bottoms so it was work appropriate (curse my tall height!)

At least I got to embrace that full light, summer look~

  • White sequined tank top- Old Navy ($15.00)
  • Light brown cropped jacket- Jacob ($20.00?)
  • Shorts- Old Navy ($5.00)
  • Denim capris- Stitches ($12.00)

One quick change of pants to make sure I’m dressing appropriate for work:

Fashion is like acting—we don’t have to stay restricted to one role. We evolve, we change, and we grow. Because of that, we get to allow ourselves to change outfits and project different images of ourselves to others.

In high school you could be dressing as the punk rock stereotype, and go to the university as the dress-to-impress studious prep student. Look at how you dress now compared to before. How has it changed? Is it for better or for worse?

Different situations call for different sides to ourselves, and our wardrobe is one factor that helps to emphasize that.

The best part of fashion is that you never have to be only one thing or person; you have an endless world of possibilities to experiment with. What’s your current style and why?

1. Your Wardrobe

I’m not even gunna try to dodge it.

My closet is a horrific mess at this moment, and if I cleaned it, I would just be trying to act cool by saying “yeah, my closet is so beautiful and neat and organized“.

Nope. Lies. ALL LIES.

Sure, I do organize my wardrobe, but over a period of time I just stop being totally neat when I have days I’m in a rush and throw things back, telling myself that I will put it away later…

But apart from that, I love having my scarves hung up on one hanger! =)

I enjoy colour coordinating my clothes too when I don’t hang them in full outfits.

Although, I have this thing where I place my new clothes or certain items that I’ve finally bought in the beginning of my closet because to me it feels really cool and I want to see it all the time. Corny? I know.

Ps. SORRY I DON’T HAVE A SUPER COOL WARDROBE TO SHARE!

Its official! It’s my favourite thing to come out this summer! I am LOVING this trend!

Sheer tops are a girls best friend. Why do I say this? Because sheer (as well as chiffon) is the easiest thing to throw over on top of literally anything you’re wearing. Its so light, you almost don’t even realize you are wearing it.

It’s great when it’s a hot day and you feel like only wearing a tank top, but you still want to be covered up. Bam! Sheer to the rescue, while still looking super chic to boot.

CLOTHING TIP #1: Please ladies, let’s remember that sheer means that it IS see-through! be sure to cover up under (we don’t need to see that hot pink lace bra from Victoria Secret!) ! I recommend nude color tank tops because they work the best!

CLOTHING TIP #2: These type of tops are also GREAT transitional pieces for your fall/winter wardrobe for layering! Now THAT”S making an investment worth your while!

I have yet to really know the difference between chiffon and sheer completely, so if im wrong, please DO correct me! (Aren’t they pretty much the same besides the actual styling itself?)

How do you feel about the sheer clothing trend? =)
