I realized my school outfit the next day really tied in with the same colours as my outfit for the wedding!~IMG_1918
This red top looks absolutely gorgeous. What I wouldn’t give to go into Urban Behavior and buy if right off the mannequin!IMG_1535

Old Navy launched a special section a while back where some of the clothing was marked with tags that said “Studio Spotlight”. This meant that those pieces were from the line of clothes that the designers created! Below is what the tag looks like:

This piece that I purchased was the Old Navy Women’s one-button blazer. Here’s a link to what the whole blazer looks like:

The creator for this line including the blazer is Shanti Markstrom.

I love buying something that has more meaning than just being some article of clothing! The Studio Spotlight tag could be opened and had a paper in it with information about the creation of the blazer! It was the most adorable thing I had ever seen!

Also, I thought I would include the video about Shanti’s line that she created for you guys, it’s really cool:

I took some pictures of what the paper looked like, HAVE A LOOK!CSC_0965

I’m definitely hoping to stumble across some more Studio Spotlight pieces more often!~

What does “affordable clothes” mean to you?

I read this quote on my Instagram by someone and agreed WHOLE HEARTEDLY!

ba0dc6963f3a11e2957722000a1f9a39_7

Is this not true? Not everyone in the world can afford what they would like to have. We have budgets, some of us are students, some are just tight on finances and some of us need to learn to stop shopping all name brand all the time.

I just thought of this as today’s realization, putting-it-out-there-inspiration of the fashion world today! Afterall, we all start somewhere no?

To me, a good deal feels good when I’m not second-guessing my purchases at the counter and staring at my credit card thinking, “is this worth it?”

I need to make a sticky note and post it on my forehead of things I need to be on the lookout for!

  • Thick scarf– IT’S GETTING CHILLY!
  • Poncho– I get cold in lectures .. it’s sad
  • Fuzzy socks– Do we not see this trend about me being cold a LOT!?
  • Christmas themed pj’s– TIME TO GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT!
  • Gloves– Carrying art supplies in the cold is NOT cool without gloves!
  • iPhone 4s case– Gotta protect that expensive little thing yenno!
  • Winter jacket– I have one, but it’s more pretty than practical, YIKES!

-What’s on YOUR list? =)

Afternoon fellow bloggers!

I’ve never been a hoodie kind of girl, but I recently fell in love with the comfy feeling of a simple black hoodie from Old Navy! Not only does it look nice, but it’s super comfy, which is essential for this fall weather!

I know this picture above may seem like a boring photo to be inspired by, but it still caught my eye. I’ve always loved how people wear hoodies and denim together. Having this photo reminded me to one day try it out myself!

I find it really funny now that you can buy jackets with the parts of a hoodie attached to it, but it’s not actually two separate pieces, but rather one whole piece. I like it, but it takes away the fun of putting the layers together yourself.

This simple black hoodie is from Old Navy for about $11.00. It’s actually very thin and light, so I can wear plenty of layers under it and it actually fits my figure nicely so it doesn’t make me look like I just rolled out of bed.

Pairing my new black hoodie with my denim-leather jacket from Forever 21 instantly became a combo that I am now thoroughly in love with!

  • Oxford shirt- Goodwill ($2.50 <–YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT! The original store it’s from is Gap)
  • Black shirt- Jacob ($10.00)
  • Jeans- Stitches ($20.00)

I probably sounded pretty bad with saying the whole “lets’ look smart” title, but I have a reason for that, fear not! I absolutely LOVE this Oxford shirt from Goodwill! Besides the fact that it’s actually from Gap and in PERFECT condition, it really gives an basic look a touch of sophistication! Oxfords not only give a clean look, but they resonate the whole studious student vibe; the preppy look isn’t a bad thing!

I’ve been favoring the preppy school style clothes because of how well-put they are and that they go perfectly with this crispy autumn weather!

What do you think?

It’s funny how you can learn a lot from other bloggers, and I felt REALLY blessed to learn from this blogger!

http://90daycloset.wordpress.com/

She did a fashion challenge (NO SHOPPING FOR 3 MONTHS), and she picked up a lot of tips from not shopping for a while.

  • Shopping impulses can occur, but it’s funny that if you wait it out and look back later on, you actually will notice that you won’t want that specific item anymore.
  • There’s the 90% chance that the desire will pass, and this is true!
  • Quality over quantity

Finding this blog was truly epic. I learned a lot from her!

And of course I had to follow her new blog once her challenge was done: http://closetstrategy.wordpress.com/

I’ve been doing my research on the upcoming fall fashion and creating my wishlist and my basic essentials list of the few transition pieces to look for this fall. Yes, I still shop from time-to-time, but I think I have more fun window shopping and researching.

For anyone who loves shopping, it takes a LOT of effort NOT to shop for a certain time period.

14. The item that was hardest to hunt down/buy

My leopard print infinity scarf from Old navy for $12. (It was hard to find “the one“)

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=38340&vid=1&pid=576179&scid=576179002 (Now $14 +tax)

That might sound stupid, but for some reason I was EXTREMELY picky about how I wanted my printed infinity scarf to look (you wouldn’t believe how much I looked online AND in-store, trying them on, debating on prices, ect).

Actually, I was just looking for a regular leopard print scarf because I had been eyeing it (current fashion trend, comfortable, everyone was rocking it while they have it); the infinity part was a plus because I fell in love with it in a heartbeat. (That’s why I was okay buying a scarf for more than $10 for the first time ever)

One day, both me and my co-worker had both worn this scarf to work, I was wearing light colours and she was wearing dark colours. It just was really interesting to see how versatile this scarf was and how it works with every colour palette so effortlessly.
