Today is a windy, rainy sorta bad weather day that is the one thing all commuters like myself hate! However, today I am home for the day and I was thinking of all the things I can do today and thought I might share it with you fellow bloggers!

  1. SLEEP IN! (Let’s be real, we all need it!)
  2. Spend that morning till noon reading all those blogs you’ve been meaning to catch up on!
  3. Read a magazine and enjoy that simple quiet time with some music~
  4. Watch some YouTube videos to stay up-to-date with your favourite YouTuber’s!
  5. Read a couple of chapters from that book you’ve been meaning to catch up on
  6. Appreciate the fact that you are still super cozy and comfy in those pajama’s and snuggled up in bed
  7. Make yourself a hot cup of hot cocoa with whip cream or a refreshing vanilla ice cream smoothie because you deserve it
  8. Hide yourself away and dedicate some time to write in your journal or draw in your sketchbook
  9. Look through images for some inspiration and make collages if you are like me; always in need of inspiration!
  10. Waste away some hours in the middle of the day to give yourself a well-needed nap
  11. Watch some movies you’ve been telling yourself to see! (I finally saw Coraline last night!)
  12. Go through your closet and make some brand-new outfit combinations
  13. Then re-vamp your room in big or small ways!~
  14. Create that bucket list you’ve been meaning to tackle on!
  15. Keep away from the interacting with people today and take photo’s or do whatever let’s you have fun!
  16. Reflect on your life; are you doing everything you want to do?

How do you spend your lazy day? =)

Be prepared: this is a bit of a photo rant!

Something that I found was really amazing was when I was at my MYT 5 year anniversary. I felt like I learned a couple things about my camera, myself, and photographers. Of course, I could be wrong because I can only go off on what I saw from my point of view from the professional photographers that were hired for the event.

Before the event had started, I’m an early bird kind of person. I like arriving to hang out with my volunteer family, and they all know that I love to take photos. So, I had some of the guys stolen by yours truly because I don’t always photograph guys and it was just TOO GOOD of an opportunity to pass up.

I definitely had to use my communication skills to get what I wanted, and anyone who knows me knows I’m not crazy about telling people how to pose. This was a step up for me. Some of the guys didn’t know me too well because they had just met me quite recently and some of them are more relaxed in front of my camera then others. This was definitely a great experience for me.

I unconsciously used techniques and tips that I had picked up from watching the YouTube channel The FramedShow. Things like visually showing my models what I was looking for, constantly talking to them to make them feel more comfortable, and levelling with them. I found this worked extremely well. After a few attempts, I had some interesting shots.

Later on, one of the guys, who was one of my models and also didn’t know me very well, said something surprising to me after the professional photographer took his tables group photo. It was basically along the lines that he felt like I was a more real photographer and I was more passionate because I actually talked to everyone to tell them how to pose and allowed them to really make the picture happen. I was actually quite shocked hearing that, and at the same time I felt blessed.

Ps. I’m not trying to boost my ego or anything because I KNOW I could have taken better photos and that I’m still in a learning process. I just wanted to share this experience.

This post by Wendy from WendysLookbook is not only beautiful, but also inspiring, just as every one of her blog posts are! The reason that this one particularly stood out to me was because of why the location of these photos were taken at, and how they were taken.

Last night, Mystery Man and I went on a date and spotted a fountain on our way home.  With pure excitement, we parked the car and rushed towards the fountain.  MM with his quick hands managed to snap a few pictures while skirting by the water with me.  We felt like little kids enjoying a carefree moment!

After reading this, it made me stop and think.

THIS is why I take photos.

THIS is how I act.

THIS is something that I feel I can heavily relate to.

A while back, I had attended my volunteer teams 5 year anniversary, and whenever I saw someone and the perfect background or saw a moment, I literally either rushed to the scene to capture it or I was squealing and dragging the person to make that photo happen. I have to say, I was EXREMELY happy with myself that night. It also happens to me on a daily basis when shooting, at any day or time, and the feeling of seeing that single photograph come together just makes me speechless everytime. Here’s some of those photo’s that describes what I just wrote about:

One of my favourite photo’s taken that night! The colours were just so perfect, I couldn’t help but squeal after taking this shot.

My team is too comfortable in front of my camera and I abused that to no end that night.

What’s an anniversary without those super tight killer hugs and the screaming of “OMG I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN FOREVER!

Captured moments that others won’t notice until they see the pictures later on. Those are the ones you’ll look back on and always smile at.

Shay Mitchell, commonly known as “Emily Fields” on the hit show Pretty Little Liars is helping to kickoff and showoff her skinnies for American Eagle OutfittersLive Your Life” campaign for Fall 2012!

I personally adore Shay and her fashion. She has such a great personality and it really adds to her style~

American Eagle, not somewhere I shop at (price and style-wise) really went all out for their campaign! It draws in the eye with their quirky styles and their originality. I’m a sucker for great advertising and they get a 10/10 from me! Even if you don’t shop there, I highly recommend checking out their site at least!

This season, AEO is all about expressing your individual style and finding your own look,

which is why they’ve chosen an awesome and eclectic group to represent the new collection, complete with athletes, musicians, and even students.

Have a look at the other guys and girls denim styles! Trust me, the site makes it quite interesting and interactive, it’s worth seeing~

Under the section “Top off your fit”, every jean style has someone modelling it in several stylish AEO tops.

What do you think?

I love how simple and quick it can be to make one outfit work for several situations with super small tweaks! Sorry I couldn’t take better photos and degraded myself to cheesy bathroom photos! I always feel in a better mood when my hair is straightened. I was out with my volunteer team to meet our Korean delegation students, so I wore shorts, but I had to quickly run home and switch bottoms so it was work appropriate (curse my tall height!)

At least I got to embrace that full light, summer look~

  • White sequined tank top- Old Navy ($15.00)
  • Light brown cropped jacket- Jacob ($20.00?)
  • Shorts- Old Navy ($5.00)
  • Denim capris- Stitches ($12.00)

One quick change of pants to make sure I’m dressing appropriate for work:

The hour is upon us! They (Kevin Kubota, aka the dude from framedshow) from the YouTube channel Framedshow basically said there’s certain times where we are at our peak, where we are most inspired.

Unfortunately for me, that happens to be night time … like, the middle of the night, 4am, middle of the night. It’s tiring, but when I’m going, NOTHING stops me. When do you think I wrote this post along with pretty much all of my other ones? That’s right, 3:30am! Because who needs sleep these days, right? PSH. Anyways, when I mean inspired, I mean, I’m trying on different outfits, creating new projects, editing videos and photos, thinking of blog posts and who knows what else! I’m most inspired at this time probably because no one’s awake to bother me and I can surf on the net and go through my books for loads of photos and inspirations with that warm cup of milk while being super comfy in bed~

I specifically remember so many nights I’ve woken up , or forced myself to wake up just to write down a line, a word, a statement or an idea because so many times I tell myself “I’ll remember, I’ll remember” .. of course to forget in the morning!

When are you most creative or active in the day? Remember, never do regular tasks in your golden hours!

I think everyone should be a “model” at one point in their life. No, I don’t mean going into a huge fancy studio and spending a whole load of money (although a bunch of friends saving up for a long period of time and going together seems like more fun)! But seriously, have someone take your photos’ for no specific reason. Do it just because you can.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned when actually taking portraits, is that everyone can enjoy having their photo taken. When I realized someone’s face will light up when they see a photo that they like, it just dawned on me. This is what makes it so worth it. That was why I let myself dive into portraits more and more.

I’m sure plenty of people would like it, even if it was only once in their life, who wouldn’t? Girls love to dress up when they go out and “cam-whore” because they feel good. Guys too have their days where they feel extremely great, practically on top of the world. Letting someone get dressed and take their photo and just have a good time seems like more than enough reason to do it. Don’t you agree?

Wouldn’t you like to have those few photo’s to look back on of yourself just showing that you are at your best? You know you feel good, you had fun, and you got a fun experience out of it to tell someone about when they ask “hey, that’s such a nice photo! When did you do this?
