I attempted to wear some colour today (or a lot?) and I like the outfit, but at the same time it’s something very new for me to try; what do you lovely bloggers’ think?

Thumbs UP or thumbs DOWN?

I’m actually not sure if this considers’ as colour blocking because I used such light shades?

Just like the infamous ”writer’s block”, I am experiencing “fashion’s block“. A little while back I purchased a polka dot cardigan that I’ve been eyeing. I love cardigan’s, so I figured instead of buying simple solid coloured ones, I would attempt buying a pattern.

This is your typical full sleeve button-up cardigan (Old Navy, $15)

I did NOT however, think it would be so hard to style! It’s because I don’t buy patterns that require layering, I find it a bit odd to wear.

Ideally, a cardigan can simply be worn with a tank top inside and that itself is a completed outfit. However, I want to kick it up a notch. The only question is how?

A challenge has presented itself to me! I have 90 days (that’s the return/exchange policy) to see if I can make outfits that I will love and if not, I’ll simply return it back to the store.

Just one set of layers is working with a cool colour palette. Now to push it further! Time for some fun, research and experimenting!

There are always times when projects CAN go wrong. We fear it’ll happen, but you just gotta have an open mind and improvise~

I found that I almost never wear this shirt and it just feels quite plain to me. Then, I had gotten inspired when I saw Pretty Little Liar’s Spencer wearing this top:

I fell in love with this top the SECOND I saw her wearing it!

All you need is a marker and mark off where you want the cut to be and cut!

To duplicate the cut, you can take the fabric and put it on the other side and use it as a guideline to cut.

Another way to get the other side cut is to simply fold the shirt in half so that the already cut side is on top and you can see where to cut to make it exactly the same.

As much as I really wanted to do this, it was a bit longer/bigger than I thought. Well, it can’t always work.

Note: If you ever do this, start smaller and try it on to make sure you like it!

When in doubt, go SLEEVELESS! Now my top can be worn under lots of layers and it won’t bother me! =)

Now, I wrote out a post called “Risk It” and this post is a basic result of the aftermath. I made a lot of mistakes, a lot of bad photos, but I learned a lot .. and what NOT to do ..

DO NOT GO INTO THE RAIN WITHOUT HAVING AN IDEA OF WHAT KIND OF SHOTS YOU WANT !

For some reason, the next two photo’s are turned sideways and I can’t get it to change …

See … that cardigan I’m holding is what I covered my camera with as it’s “waterproof case” .. that wasn’t my best idea … and it was windy .. VERY windy …

Thanks to this umbrella, this was even possible! clutching it for dear life to shelter my poor Nikon! I believe it broke afterwards … RIP.
