Today is a windy, rainy sorta bad weather day that is the one thing all commuters like myself hate! However, today I am home for the day and I was thinking of all the things I can do today and thought I might share it with you fellow bloggers!

  1. SLEEP IN! (Let’s be real, we all need it!)
  2. Spend that morning till noon reading all those blogs you’ve been meaning to catch up on!
  3. Read a magazine and enjoy that simple quiet time with some music~
  4. Watch some YouTube videos to stay up-to-date with your favourite YouTuber’s!
  5. Read a couple of chapters from that book you’ve been meaning to catch up on
  6. Appreciate the fact that you are still super cozy and comfy in those pajama’s and snuggled up in bed
  7. Make yourself a hot cup of hot cocoa with whip cream or a refreshing vanilla ice cream smoothie because you deserve it
  8. Hide yourself away and dedicate some time to write in your journal or draw in your sketchbook
  9. Look through images for some inspiration and make collages if you are like me; always in need of inspiration!
  10. Waste away some hours in the middle of the day to give yourself a well-needed nap
  11. Watch some movies you’ve been telling yourself to see! (I finally saw Coraline last night!)
  12. Go through your closet and make some brand-new outfit combinations
  13. Then re-vamp your room in big or small ways!~
  14. Create that bucket list you’ve been meaning to tackle on!
  15. Keep away from the interacting with people today and take photo’s or do whatever let’s you have fun!
  16. Reflect on your life; are you doing everything you want to do?

How do you spend your lazy day? =)

Once you start, you cant stop. I’ve never done any crazy complicated DIYs before, I’ve mainly done quick little things that you could think of off the bat of your head. Actually, I don’t know if they can even be CONSIDERED as a DIY because it is either so basic or I just saw it as an easy alternative of how to fix something (most just clothes).

Before, I would NEVER even THINK twice about a pair of scissors in my hands going near ANY of my clothes. However, once you do it that ONE time JUSTTTTTTT to snip away some annoying threads or so, you begin to think.

Hey … I COULD cut off the sleeve since its bothering me so much. It will look like all those other shirts people are wearing now. That would be SO COOL! Ah, its JUST a sleeve, whats it gunna kill me… I’m sure I could just— oh, maybe if I justttttt do this — ohmygosh I HAVE to find that tutorial again on how to do this! Maybe if I look on YouTube and Pinterest … huh, I should do this more often!

Never be afraid to try.

You never know!

Things that are simple can be really fun. It makes you think a bit more creatively. It makes something completely your own. It can also inspire others. So, WHY NOT?

“Inspiration or Desperation?”

As soon as I read this, it’s been stuck in my head. It’s always constantly reminding me whenever I’m doing anything art/photo-related.

It’s not supposed to be easy. But, sometimes I think that’s what some people think; “Gee, if you love it, why would it be hard for you?” That’s where you want to ask them to do what you do and see what they think.

It happens with anything that you’re truly passionate about. It’s like a trial and a phase. It’s both a blessing and a curse. You sometime’s NEED to hit that wall, that writers block, in order to rediscover WHY you fell in love in the first place. Understand where you came from; what your starting point was, and how to go about it.

This is what I’ve decided to do. Start from the beginning before moving forward recklessly.

-Why did I fall in love with photos? Why did I take photo’s the way that I took them? What was it that made me want to pursue it?

Sometimes you do have to ask yourself, are you getting inspired because you WANT to, or because you NEED to?

When we aren’t careful, if desperation is knocking at our door and we answer it, then what are we left with? We’re left with a routine. A lifeless, empty routine.

That should be your goal! To NOT let it get to you. To avoid it. To destroy it.

I want to start over with my photo’s. I need to remember that I do like taking them because it’s something that I enjoy, not because I feel like I HAVE to. It’s hard to be inspired to take photo’s and NOT be desperate about the style or it’s level of originality of it. It’s easy to take a pretty picture, but it’s harder to make it your own. And no, I don’t mean just sticking a watermark or logo on it.

You know those day’s when you have a crazy burst of energy? Well, inbetween lots of photo’s and rummaging and cleaning, I ended up making a video.

Simply for amusement & fun =)

And in less than an hour to boot!

I can’t upload video’s to wordpress, but if you feel like it, it’s less than 3 minutes. (The quality was killed when uploading to YouTube! Darn!)

How are you guys all doing after this lovely long weekend? I am personally drained! =P
