It’s already a month into summer! How have you been spending it? Don’t regret a single minute of it and let it go to waste!

LIVE IT! You’ll never get it back~

This morning, I saw a tweet about Taurus’ (I’m not a ridiculous believer in horoscopes, but it’s fun from time to time!)

It said, “You cannot tell a #Taurus to stay at home” (@XSTROLOGY)

I found this amusing. It’s a bit true to me personally, especially for this summer. I refuse to stay in my house and be bored and unproductive for even a single day because it’ll drive me nuts (even when I stay home, I clean or take photos). Don’t be that person who SAYS the things you want to do … but doesn’t end up doing it.

Seeing a friend of mine, SummerGal 101, write a post about her summer motivation (http://lola455567.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/summer-of-motivation/) and making a bucketlist was simply inspiring~

“What do you want to have accomplished by the end of your summer?”

Don’t think of it as a major pressure to do “extraordinary” things, but rather, have a highlight to your day, something that you enjoyed as small as it may be~

So far, I’m enjoying my summer already!

  • Working as much as possible (while looking for another job)
  • Late night days at coffee catching up with old friends for HOURS
  • Lots and lots of photoshoots
  • Going to Centre Island
  • Summer school (Photography 1, woohoo!)
  • Actually watched a hockey game
  • Set off fireworks for Victoria Day
  • Planning movie marathons
  • Planning a road trip to Alberta to visit a friend
  • Booking off vacation time for the first time in my life!
  • Explore the city
  • Create personal projects
  • Finding new places to go to
  • A bit of clubbing and partying here and there~
  • Going to high park to see the Cherry Blossoms
  • Photographing concerts with the old volunteer team
  • Working in a darkroom again for the first time in years
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Thrifting adventures

What will you do this summer?

Make a promise to yourself and keep it~

What does “affordable clothes” mean to you?

I read this quote on my Instagram by someone and agreed WHOLE HEARTEDLY!

ba0dc6963f3a11e2957722000a1f9a39_7

Is this not true? Not everyone in the world can afford what they would like to have. We have budgets, some of us are students, some are just tight on finances and some of us need to learn to stop shopping all name brand all the time.

I just thought of this as today’s realization, putting-it-out-there-inspiration of the fashion world today! Afterall, we all start somewhere no?

To me, a good deal feels good when I’m not second-guessing my purchases at the counter and staring at my credit card thinking, “is this worth it?”

If there’s one thing I love about Pretty Little Liars, it’s their amazing fashion!

This has to be the most relevant quote since I started watching the series!

I love that each of the girls have their own unique style that really reflects their character quite well. If you didn’t know anything about the show or their characters, you could actually get an idea just from their appearances.

Mandi Line truly is an amazing costume designer! Here’s a video that talks about how she creates each of the girls look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9lgy6GhI0Q Spencer surprised me the most, it was adorable~

Aria is a very vintage like girl! She’s what I would call the thrifter! Her outfits are not things you can just find in a store mannequin, you have to personalize it and truly make it your own!

Hanna truly signifies what an “it” girl is; the one with all the up-to-date fashion that is currently trending! I absolutely love her outfits, and it’s how I would dream of dressing, but I feel like it’s a hard look to maintain. She looks so out-there and ready to go out anytime anyday! Ever her slump days look great!hannah_0

Emily is the character who’s fashion definitely changed over the seasons. While the other girls didn’t change as much, Emily (from my perspective) acquired a more tough badass feel to her looks. I think her signature piece is her leather jacket, it really makes her look edgy. I don’t normally love her outfits as much, but I feel that now she’s gone through so many situations because of A, her look says, “I’m not afraid of you. Bring it.” Funny enough, off-screen from her jock character, Shay Mitchell is actually my favourite person in real life! I mean, HAVE YOU SEEN HER? she’s gorgeous! I only wish she could look like that when she’s playing Emily as well!emily-fields-tea-cup

Spencer has the most sophisticated wardrobe out of all the girls! She’s one of my top two favourites! I always think of an honour roll student/Tommy Hilfiger/American Eagle kinda look to her, which I personally love. This jacket below is one of my favourite pieces that she’s worn. I have a denim jacket similar to this, but the army green really makes it look tough and edgy, which is a nice contrast to her normal look. 0 (1)

Today is a windy, rainy sorta bad weather day that is the one thing all commuters like myself hate! However, today I am home for the day and I was thinking of all the things I can do today and thought I might share it with you fellow bloggers!

  1. SLEEP IN! (Let’s be real, we all need it!)
  2. Spend that morning till noon reading all those blogs you’ve been meaning to catch up on!
  3. Read a magazine and enjoy that simple quiet time with some music~
  4. Watch some YouTube videos to stay up-to-date with your favourite YouTuber’s!
  5. Read a couple of chapters from that book you’ve been meaning to catch up on
  6. Appreciate the fact that you are still super cozy and comfy in those pajama’s and snuggled up in bed
  7. Make yourself a hot cup of hot cocoa with whip cream or a refreshing vanilla ice cream smoothie because you deserve it
  8. Hide yourself away and dedicate some time to write in your journal or draw in your sketchbook
  9. Look through images for some inspiration and make collages if you are like me; always in need of inspiration!
  10. Waste away some hours in the middle of the day to give yourself a well-needed nap
  11. Watch some movies you’ve been telling yourself to see! (I finally saw Coraline last night!)
  12. Go through your closet and make some brand-new outfit combinations
  13. Then re-vamp your room in big or small ways!~
  14. Create that bucket list you’ve been meaning to tackle on!
  15. Keep away from the interacting with people today and take photo’s or do whatever let’s you have fun!
  16. Reflect on your life; are you doing everything you want to do?

How do you spend your lazy day? =)

Afternoon fellow bloggers!

I’ve never been a hoodie kind of girl, but I recently fell in love with the comfy feeling of a simple black hoodie from Old Navy! Not only does it look nice, but it’s super comfy, which is essential for this fall weather!

Instagram: Briichan

I know this picture above may seem like a boring photo to be inspired by, but it still caught my eye. I’ve always loved how people wear hoodies and denim together. Having this photo reminded me to one day try it out myself!

I find it really funny now that you can buy jackets with the parts of a hoodie attached to it, but it’s not actually two separate pieces, but rather one whole piece. I like it, but it takes away the fun of putting the layers together yourself.

This simple black hoodie is from Old Navy for about $11.00. It’s actually very thin and light, so I can wear plenty of layers under it and it actually fits my figure nicely so it doesn’t make me look like I just rolled out of bed.

Pairing my new black hoodie with my denim-leather jacket from Forever 21 instantly became a combo that I am now thoroughly in love with!

  • Pink floral print shirt- Blue Notes Outlet ($5.00)
  • Mahogany colored jeans- Urban Planet ($25.00)
  • Robin print scarf- Ardene (Gift)
  • Light brown cropped jacket- Jacob ($20.00?)
  • Brown jacket- Urban Planet ($15.00)

Fall is all about layers! This is one of my new favourite fall outfits because of the colors and the layering! Have a look at each layer (one full outfit became wearable to look different by simply removing and adding a layer or two!):

The most basic outfit: a top and bottom. Working with some autumn colours, I decided to be bold and try a tone-on-tone outfit!

Sometime’s a scarf is really the best way to make an outfit stand out as an accent piece! Not only does it match, it’s extra warmth!

OR we can switch the scarf for a cropped lightweight jacket that literally feels like nothing! It adds a more neutral tone to the outfit.

And the final outfit because chill weather means we need to stay warm! Threw on my jacket and I’m out the door!

  • Oxford shirt- Goodwill ($2.50 <–YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT! The original store it’s from is Gap)
  • Black shirt- Jacob ($10.00)
  • Jeans- Stitches ($20.00)

I probably sounded pretty bad with saying the whole “lets’ look smart” title, but I have a reason for that, fear not! I absolutely LOVE this Oxford shirt from Goodwill! Besides the fact that it’s actually from Gap and in PERFECT condition, it really gives an basic look a touch of sophistication! Oxfords not only give a clean look, but they resonate the whole studious student vibe; the preppy look isn’t a bad thing!

I’ve been favoring the preppy school style clothes because of how well-put they are and that they go perfectly with this crispy autumn weather!

What do you think?
